Our Growing Capstone Community

Our capstone community is growing!

The shift to online learning generated new interest in capstone, and many new people found us online. We started our Mighty Network at the same time, which proved to be an excellent moment to launch the new platform. We observed robust engagement, and it has steadily grown as we all connect in our young digital space.

Capstone is an educational curriculum for the moment. In addition to all the wonderful goals that it fulfills, it fits perfectly into online, independent learning. The movement was going strong this winter, impressively survived the new covid19 reality, and is poised to flourish as schools are forced to reconsider all that they do in the classroom. Capstone has a place in most schools that are truly interested in authentic 21st century learning.

Our community is a true social network, connected by people and ideas. Many of us joined through a colleague, and share positive relationships and respect for everyone in the consortium. Reaching out to your other educational networks is important for this reason. Consider broadcasting your capstone ideas and connecting with us online. Not only will you publicize your own wonderful work, you will allow more people to connect with us and join our capstone conversations. You may create a connection between us and a school searching for a solution for their current programming challenges.

The upcoming academic year will be another one of growth, connection and discovery. I am excited for the next capstone season and all the new ideas and experiences!
